New On Shelf: Kit Black Shatter It
Everyone’s on the shatter bandwagon! One of my favourites, Kit Cosmetics, has come out with a beautiful black shatter polish that has me cracking up (I know, terrible, I’m sorry).

Aye Caramba!¡!
Come July 25th, Kit Cosmetics will be releasing the most fabulous collection they have done in quite some time – Viva La Color. Eye, lip and cheek colour palettes with Missoni-like print on the packaging, bold lippies, bright glosses, and new brushes with colourful handles. But the polish, oh the polish! Five full sized colours, and then a set of four minis. All limited edition, naturally.
I don’t know about you, but I have just about reached Royal Wedding saturation point. If I read one more article speculating about dresses, hairstyles, guests lists or canapes, I might just poke some eyes out. That said, these beautiful polishes from Kit definitely sent my royal heart racing with their regal jewel tones.
Free nail polish! Well, not 100% free because you have to buy the new issue of Shop Til You Drop, but you probably would have done that anyway, right?
The May issue with Keira Knightley is on sale today (April 11) and is $7.80. Even if you skip the nail polish (moron) it’s still worth buying the magazine anyway. But if you buy the issue, tear out page 204, fill in your deets and head to a Kit store or counter, you get the latest polish from the Kit/Shop collaboration range for free. Lucky you.
How freaking cute is Leah Lagana, the national make-up artist for Kit Cosmetics. As cute as a box of kittens, that’s how cute! She’s not all fluffernutters and cuddles though, this girl is serious about make-up and really knows her shiz. I picked her brain for two and a half minutes to get the low down on what’s coming up at Kit and her 2011 trend predictions.
Kit have outdone themselves with four really awesome colours from their new Capture The Moment collection (due to launch on Monday). This whole makeup collection is hot to trot, but you know I will always have a soft spot for polish (this isn’t theblushfile, or thelipfile now, is it?)
Kit do excellent bright pastels, and these are no exception. We’re talking bright, but still feminine. First firework to explode is High Impact…

Butter LONDON have produced some beautiful shimmery new colours, including a baby blue called Lady Muck and a greigy-lilac called No More Waity, Katie. I love the polish that honours Kate Middleton and her patience with finally getting Wills to put a ring on it. Potential wedding day polish? They will be out in the northern hemisphere spring (our autumn).
Kit have just released their Capture The Moment collection, which includes four shit-hot bold pastels: yellow, lilac, blue and coral. Swatches will be coming in the next week, and I know you’ll be impressed. They have even put out all four colours in a mini set OMG!
Zoya are about to release Wicked and Wonderful into Australia (finally!) – one set is six rich and creamy wintery tones, while the other is six dark winter colours in glitter. Magical. I’m actually excited for winter.
Considering we first saw Chanel debut baby blue polish back in May, it feels like it has been a long slog to finally get to Riva hitting the counter, but here we are.
No point getting excited for Riva if you didn’t pre-order though – tough luck. That said, it’s super easy to duplicate the look without splashing out on the Chanel. And by all accounts, it isn’t worth splashing out on anyway – lots of people are reporting that it’s a poor formula.

A little bit of inspiration for a Tuesday – ORLY Foil FX polishes are amazing on their own, but can also add a little bit of spice to a mani with metallic tips. I got loads of compliments on my silver Shine tips when I paired them with the gorgeous purple of Kit Reach Out.
If you’re struggling to nail (zing!) your french tips, don’t forget my sticky tape trick!
The details:

They should rename this collection The Compliment Thieves, because all three of them got me stolen glances, longing looks and outright gushing. It might be the bold hues, or it might be the subtle shimmer, either way, they stole my heart.
