Super cute: big Ruby Nail Tattoos
I have to admit that I’m not the hugest fan of nail art – it always seems a little bit cheap and/or juvenile. When big Ruby Nail Tattoos landed on my desk though, I was really impressed. These are grown up nail tattoos – quirky prints like little birds, planets and mod shapes in neutral tones.
The first ones I tried were from the Tweet designs set – doves, owls and feathers in varying shades of dusty purple, blue and pink (I also have Cosmic and Mod ready to go). I popped them over my favourite neutral, OPI Samoan Sand, and enjoyed looking at them every time I was typing.
You apply them like a regular temporary tattoo – cut out around the shape, hold it in place, wet the back of the paper and press to stick. Slick a top coat over the top and you’re in business.
Word to the wise – make sure your polish is 100% bone dry. I would go so far as to say do your polish and your tattoos in different sittings just to be sure.
I used the big Ruby Super Dry Top Coat over my tats and they stayed in place beautifully for four days; it took some elbow grease to scrub them off (hindsight – I should have left them to see how long they really lasted, but my polish was getting crusty).
Each set contains ten different designs in varying sizes for different sized fingers and toes – all up there are 86 tats in each pack, which is kickass value. These are perfect for adding a bit of colour or personality to a mani – I’m converted.
