The best grey nail polish – a round up

Posted on 25. Aug, 2010 by in Tried and Tested

After the gorgeous Ms Critique asked me last week to recommend the best grey nail polish, I thought this was a great chance to do a roundup of my favourites for you.

Taken in artificial light

Taken in natural light

ORLY – Mirror Mirror – $18.95 (spas and salons)
This is a cement grey, with a blue base. Paints on really well (loads of pigment), lasts for ages and is fairly chip resistant.

Taken in natural light

ESSIE – Chinchilly – $18.95 (spas and salons)
The most taupe of the three greys, with a very mushroom-y base. Requires at least 2 coats for solid colour. Looks fantastic with Essie Matte About You over the top.

Taken in natural light

KIT – Down Low – $15.95 (kit stores and kiosks)
Also with a mushroom base, but less taupe than the Essie polish. Dense polish with lots of pigment and shine – excellent moody grey.

    LOVE grey nailpolish!
Great to see your favs… I have a sportsgirl one from a little while ago that I really like and saw the Kit one the other day, I like that its a bit mushroom-y/taupe, rather than a flat grey…
    Thanks for the recs!
    xx
